Bonneville golf course has dark lush fairways and tall full trees that make the landscape a relaxing getaway just five minutes away from the heart of downtown.
"Bonney" is renowned for its challenging and well manicured greens. The course was built on the foothills of the east bench which makes for interesting contours and slopes. Its length, wooded areas and greens make the course very challenging.
At Bonneville, the greens are the true defense of the course. Many say the greens break toward the city and for the most part that is true. There are however, a few holes where that is not the case, like #17. It is especially important to stay below the hole on holes 1, 9 and most importantly 10.
Getting a flavor for the conditions of the course is important. During summer months and in the fall, the course hardens up. Getting an approach to finish on the putting surface can many times mean hitting a shot short of the green and letting it bounce up. This is almost always the case on hole 12.
